The number of shopping malls in Kochi is gradually increasing and the city is becoming a hub for shoppers. Some malls are located nearby together, while others may be far, but with the metro service, the city is well-connected at every corner. So, whether you are in Aluva, Pathadipalam, Palarivattom, Edapally, Vyttila, or anywhere else, you can easily visit these malls for a shopping spree.

LuLu Mall Kochi

The biggest mall in India in regards to its area coverage (2,500,000 sq ft), the Lulu Mall first opened on 10th March, 2013. This famous project of LuLu Group International is featured with more than 200 outlets, inclusive of cinema, food court, and gaming zones. The mall is quite an expensive, but yet a popular one due to the presence of global brands.


Getting Here:

Take any of the regular buses plying from Ernakulam Junction to Aluva, and get down at the Edappally Junction. For metro route, take a train from anywhere to get to the Edappally metro station, as the mall has a direct walkway from there. It is the nearest mall from Kochi airport, taking around 30 minutes to reach.

Once You Reach:

Shop grocery items and electronic gadgets from the biggest hypermarket of the country, LuLu Hypermarket (ground floor), watch movies at PVR Cinemas and 5D cinemas, have fun at the bowling alley and arcade games, and skate at south India’s largest ice skating rink. A few hours may not be adequate to cover the whole mall, so be sure to have enough time in hand.

Centre Square Mall, Mahatma Gandhi Road (M.G Road)

Covering around 5,00,00 sq ft area, this is another crowded shopping mall in the city after LuLu. Famous retail brands (both domestic and international) have their outlets here, offering everything from clothes, footwear, accessories, furniture, and grocery.

There is a vast parking lot that can accommodate 500 two wheelers and 500 four wheelers. The multiplex Cinepolis used to be a busy and sought-after zone but due to a fire accident, it was shut down, with a promise of opening soon backed by a better security system.


Getting Here:

In a private car or a cab take the route via old NH 47 and M.G Road. This is the fastest possible route, considering the traffic.

Once You Reach:

Besides shopping, and watching movies, you can have authentic Kerala dishes in the food court on the top floor.

Oberon Mall, Edappally

Oberon Mall Kochi

Opened on 2nd  March 2009, the five-storied shopping mall is situated at the convenient location of NH 544 Bypass. It was the first ever mall in Kochi with a multiplex. There are gaming zones, a food court, and multiple famous brand stores including FabIndia, and Crossword. The parking lot is spacious enough for around 1,200 cars.


Getting Here:

A hired cab will take you to the mall from any point in the town. If you are coming from somewhere like Fort Kochi (22 km away), take the NH 66in a cab or private car, and you will reach the mall.

Once You Reach:

Engross in shopping for affordable footwear, ethnic and semi-ethnic dresses from the trendy apparel stores, and buy a variety of seafood from Wild Fish. At the atrium, there are various programs conducted from time to time, so you check them out too.

Abad Nucleus Mall, Maradu

This office complex-cum-shopping mall covers around 280,000 sq ft area, also being India’s first LEED certified gold rated green mall. Comparatively smaller than the others, offering only about 65 outlets, it includes a cosmetic and jewelry store, a luxurious banquet hall along with a cafeteria, food court, and a multiplex. However, due to its small size, it may not be a place to go to if you are looking to spend a lot of time.


Getting Here:

Hire a cab or tuktuk (as locals call an auto) from Ernakulam and travel for around half an hour to get here.

Once You Reach:

Watch movies at PAN Cinemas and enjoy 6D shows at the Theatre. Enjoy fun video games in the game parlor run by Boomerang Game Ventures.

Grand Mall, Edappally

Grand Mall Kochi

Situated close to the Edappally junction, this is a reasonably affordable shopping destination. From a banquet hall to a food court, in addition to numerous clothing stores, this mall has everything within its 75,000 sq. ft of area. It offers parking facility in its basement and terrace.


Getting Here:

Either take the Kochi-Panvel Highway or reach the mall via Mahatma Gandhi Road or travel via NH 66 from the Ernakulam Junction by a cab.

Once You Reach:

There are eight eateries inside the mall where you can try both experimental and regular foods. Enter the game sections where both adults and children can have some quality time with stimulating games.

Gold Souk Grande, Vyttila

Gold Souk Grande

With around 150 stores, the shopping mall is a property of Gold Souk Group. There are 5 floors including the basement and its parking lot has a capacity of accommodating 1200 cars at a time. It is quite interesting as the parking lot’s spiral way resembles the one shown in The Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift. Leading international brands of clothing and accessory have their retail stores in the mall as well.

Getting Here:

It is about 5km away from the Ernakulam junction, and should not take more than 15-20 minutes if you come via app cabs. There are local buses as well, but they take a little longer.

Once You Reach:

Watch movies at the 4 screen multiplex Q Cinemas, play arcade and video games at Boomerang, and have a feast at the multiple food joints to have a quality time. There is a bowling alley named Amoeba where both adults and kids may bowl.
